WEDDING PARTY HAPPY HOUR

4-6pm
Monday, December 26th
The Spotted Cat
623 Frenchmen St
New Orleans, LA 70116
(504) 943-3887 As the Spotted Cat is a very, very cool bar slash music venue, this will be an 21+ event (anyone over 18 can attend if accompanied by a parent/legal guardian). If you would like to attend but need child-care assistance, please e-mail eric_galatas (at) yahoo (dot) com the names and ages of your children and we'll set that up for you.

Note: The Saints (a local NFL team) will host the Atlanta Falcons (non-local rival) for Monday Night Football at 7pm local time on December 26th. Every bar in the French Quarter will be showing the game, a unique experience for sure, or you can make your way to the Superdome and watch in person. Here's how you can purchase tickets:
http://www.neworleanssaints.com/tickets-and-stadium/index.html.

Place d'Armes Hotel

Places to Stay in New Orleans

We've reserved a block of rooms at the Place d'Armes Hotel, which is next door to the location of the wedding and reception. It's one of the few locally owned hotels in the French Quarter (rates start @ $89/night).

Place d'Armes Hotel

Rent a House

Rent a House
You might also consider renting an apartment or an entire house directly from New Orleans residents (rates from $75/night). We did this for our scouting trip, and it was great to live like a local for a few days. Here are some sites that offer this service: www.airbnb.com, www.vrbo.com. And we also had great luck last X-mas with extremely discounted rates (starting at $65/night) for hotels through Hotwire.com, though these are not locally owned.

We wandered into this place on our scouting trip, only to discover on our way home that it was featured in the Where Y'At weekly paper. It was AWESOME. If you like ginger, try their home-made ginger drink. It's like lemonade but made with ginger and perfect after walking around the Quarter.
